An entrance pass pays the fee to enter a park. A timed-entry, road or trail reservation controls access to a specific place or time. You may need both.

Is an entrance pass the same as a reservation?
No. An entrance pass pays the admission fee. A timed-entry or road reservation is a separate access requirement and is often required even if you have an annual pass.
Do I need a reservation if I already have an annual pass?
Possibly. Annual and America the Beautiful passes generally cover the entrance fee, but they do not replace timed-entry, road, campground, trail or backcountry reservations.
When are reservations released?
